The idea for today's lesson is from the Gospel X-Ray by JD Tant.  It's based on the word watch and it's thing we are to watch for.

1) W   
     a.  Words - Eccl 10:12 - the wise man  Prov 26:20 - the talebearer  Mt 12: 36-37 - be careful
     b.  Worship - John 4: 24 - spirit and truth  Ex 34:14 - no other God  Mt 4:10 - the whole heart
     c.  Walk - John 12:35 -while having the light, Rom 8:4 - as to flesh, Eph 4:17, Col 1:10

2)  A 
      a.  Aim - 2 Cor 5: 9-10 - our ambition
     b.  Actions - Eccl 11:9, 12:14 -God will bring to judgment,Psa 51:4 -who are our actions against?
     c.  Attitude - Philipians 3 - Paul pressed on, "attitude is everything", Nahum 4: 6 - work attitude

     a.  Tongue - James 3 - the definitive passage regarding the tongue
     b.  Talent - Matt 25: 14ff - wise and foolish usage of talents, Lk 19: 11-27 - minas
     c.  Time - Romans 13: 11-14 - wake up!  "hurry up, we don't have much time!"

4)  C
     a.  Company - 2 Thess 3: 14 - a warning  1 Cor 15:33 - bad company Pro 13:20 - same thought
     b.  Character - Mt 5: 3-12 - beatitudes  3 John 11-our imitation, look at Job, Joseph, etc
     c.  Children - Ephesians 6 - the responsibilities of children  Proverbs - numerous passages

     a.  Home - Luke 15: 11-32 - a passage not often used, but why did he return there?
     b.  Habits - Ps 1: 1-3 - Study,Romans 12: 12 - prayer, Jas 5: 13 -sing,Heb 10:25 - assembling
     c.  Heart - 2 Cor 4: 1 - can become "faint", Col 3: 15 - what should rule?  1 Sam 13: 13-14

We obviously have not examined everything we can under each letter, but the point this morning is we need to be very watchful!
