JESUS (JAMES KESZKOWSKY - PREACHER)         11/28/10

Today's lesson is entitled "Jesus".  Acts 8:35 - Philip preached Jesus and if we read further down in this chapter, preaching Jesus to the Ethiopian Eunuch had the type of results every preacher hopes to accomplish.   Read Acts 8: 36-38.
If you turn to the song "WE SAW THEE NOT" in our song books, this particular song preaches about Jesus.

1)  JOHN 1: 1-14 - Here in the first chapter of John we know that Jesus was with God, and He was with God from the very beginning of time.

2)  In John 1:1 The people who should have received Jesus when He was on this earth did not receive Him.  The Scribes and the Pharisees mainly, they knew all the prophecies concerning the Messiah.  Yet when all the prophesies concerning Jesus were fulfilled they refused to accept Him.

3)  John 1: 12 - If you receive Jesus you have the right to be called Children of God.

4)  Matt 1: 18-25 - Here we read about Joseph and Mary and about how Mary was a virgin until after the birth of Jesus.

5)  Luke 2: 1-7 - Jesus was born and laid in a manger.

6)  Matt 2: 13-23 - Jesus came from Egypt and came to the town of Nazareth.

7)  Matt 7: 21-26 - What does Jesus say here? He says if you hear his words and ACT on them you will be wise.  You have to live by His words.

8)  Luke 23: 26-47; 2 Corinthians 5: 14-17 - In this chapter Paul talks about what is temporary and what is eternal.

9)  2 Corinthians 7: 10-11; Matthew 26: 31-35; Matthew 26: 47-50; Matthew 27: 3-5 - Judas did feel badly for what he had done, but instead of seeking forgiveness he hanged himself.  There is a right way to repent and a wrong way to repent.  Peter repented correctly.

10) Luke 24: 1-11 - Can you imagine how excited these women were to hear that Jesus had risen from the dead?  They were so anxious to get back to town, they ran.  They were willing to tell everyone about Jesus.  They could not contain their love and joy.  Do we feel that way?  Do we want to tell a others about Jesus?

11)  Luke 24: 13-31 - Here Jesus was with the brethren along to road to Jerusalem and they didn't even recognize Him.  Are we like the disciples of Jesus who do not recognize His words even though they are staring us in the face?

12) Acts 1: 1 - 11; Romans 14: 11-12; Romans 14: 7-9 -The songs we sing have many scriptural applications.
