Do you work hard and yet no one seems to notice?  Did you ever clean the kid's room knowing it was just going to get messy again?  Did you ever think the extra effort at work goes unnoticed by the boss?  Question, do we do things only to be appreciated by others?

1.  WE ARE TO SHINE OUT!  - Mt. 5: 14-16
     a. We are to do things to the glory of God!
     b. The temptation is there so others see us - Mt 6:1-6
     c.  The Pharisees fell into that trap - Mt 23: 5-12
     d.  Is justification what other men accept or what God accepts?  Luke 16:15
     e.  Do we believe God when we seek the praise of men - NO!  John 5: 44

2.  WE DO RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR GOD, BUT DO WE REALLY THINK HE NEEDS OUR FEEBLE EFFORTS?
     a.  What about wickedness and righteousness?  Job 35: 6-7
     b.  What is our duty?  To SERVE Him!  Eccl. 12:13
     c.   Yet, God owes us nothing for our service.  Romans 11: 33-36
     d.   Why?  Because everything we have is from Him first.  1 Chron 29: 13-16
     e.  We serve Him because we love Him!  Deut 10:12
     f.   What did Jesus say about this?  Matt 22: 36-38

3.  THE MOTIVATION?  BECAUSE GOD SAID IT'S RIGHT
     a.   We don't do them for others to reward our deeds.  Mt 5: 46-48
     b.   We sometimes do good to see what we can get out of it, or because it's right in and of itself?
           Luke 6: 31-36
     c.    We'll be VERY disappointed if our sole motivation is respect of others  1 Pet 3: 13-17
    
4.   THIS IS NOT TO SAY OUR RIGHTEOUS DEEDS WILL BE IGNORED - Heb 6: 9-12
