This morning our discussion is about salvation. There's more to salvation than you might think.
1) WHAT DOES SALVATION PRESUPPOSE?
A. A Savior - Christ, Saved-those who accept, Need on man's part of salvation, a law broken-sin
B. From the beginning of the OT to the NT there is a gradual unfolding of the increasing prominence of the theme of salvation.
2) WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE IDEA OF SALVATION?
A. Forgiveness of past sins -
1. Does it take place in heaven or on earth? In heaven, in the mind of God. Heb 8:7-13, Jer 31: 31-34
2. Corollary - Therefore, man could feel that he were forgiven and not be.
B. How does man know how to obtain forgiveness? a. God must reveal it b. We must be persuaded we are lost c. We must believe He will pardon if we comply with the terms of the pardon.
C. How do we know we're pardoned? a. 1 Cor 2: 10-11, Rom 8:16 b. Any other testimony would violate the word of God.
D. There's a change of relationship

c. How is that relationship changed? The Devil's must be broken! How? By the Word 2 Cor 10:3-5
d. Also, a person must sustain a relationship to God, Christ and the H.S. that was not there before. e. Must be adopted or born into the Father's family - Redeemed - Col 1: 13-14; Born - John 3:4; Adopted - Rom 8: 14-16

2. Hate had to be removed - Col 1: 20-22
3. God used an act of love, heaping punishment on His own Son to win our affection - Isa 53: 4-6;
