How Do You Really Feel About The Word Of God? 5/27/07
A lot of people have a Bible sitting on their coffee table that's never read. Is it an ornament in your home or a
guide to your life. Also, the way we view the Word will be reflected in other areas of our lives. Let's examine this idea.
1) The Word of God Should Be The Basis of Our Life -
a. Solomon went right to the heart of the matter - Ecclesiastes 12: 13
b. Only the Word will endure - Matthew 24: 35; 1 Peter 1: 25
c. Why? What else is there that can help an individual like the Word - 2 Timothy 3: 16-17
d. We need to have a love and reverence
1. examine the apostle's attitude - 1 Thessalonians 2: 13
e. It's Final and Conclusive
2) If It's The Basis, Then It Will Be Reflected In How We Feel About God
a. You can't neglect either
b. The Word dwells in your heart by faith - Romans 10: 17
c. If that's the case in our lives then God will proportionately dwell in us to the same degree
d. If the world is first place, then the Word will be crowded out, then God will be also
e. Another attitude how God should dwell in us - Psalm 119: 11 - 12
f. Without the Word and therefore without God we are in darkness - 1 John 1: 5 - 7
3) How Do You Feel about Your Fellow Man And Your Brother And Sister In Christ?
a. The way you feel about God and His Word will show in the way you treat others
1. The Word shows the highest moral standard
2. The Word also reflects justice and equity
3. Examine the Good Samaritan - Luke 10: 27 - 37
4. John 3: 16 God sent His Son to a world that was in rebellion, therefore we should treat others in a loving way.
It's easy to love the lovable, but how do we treat the unlovable? Matthew 5: 44
5. Jesus on the cross What was His attitude ? Luke 23: 34
4) How Do You Feel About This World And The World To Come?
a. The result of not having the Word dwell in our hearts can be seen in the New Testament - Romans 1: 18 - 21
b. That love will inspire us to share the Word with the world because of It's Power - Romans 1: 16
c. Our Savior desired all should be saved - Luke 19: 10
d. Let's follow the example of Jesus Christ - 1 Peter2: 21
e. It should be natural for us to share, just like Paul - 2 Corinthians 4: 13

our lives.
