II. SOME PRELIMINARY OBSERVATIONS
     A.  If the gospel were all God's part, and men had nothing to do with his salvation, you'd either have
Universalism or Calvinism:  All would be saved or God would arbitrarily choose some to be lost, others
to be saved, respecter of persons.
     B.  On the other hand, if anyone lost in the gospel age, either they are lost because they refuse to do
their part, or because God is a respecter of persons.
     C.  Since both Calvinism and Universalism are false, and we can prove some are going to be lost, then
it follows that whether man is saved or lost depends partly on man.
     D.  Only on this basis can the conclusion of the necessity of man's faith in the gospel be explained.
III. ELEMENTS IN MAN'S RESPONSE TO THE GOSPEL (Man's part in it).
     A.  Believe the Gospel. - Mk 16:15-16
          1.  Compare "believeth not"  in KJV with "obeyeth not" ASV in Jno. 3:36; Heb 3:18

               a.  If faith is no part of the gospel

     B.  Repent - Acts 17: 30,31; Luke: 13: 3,5 If repentance no part of the Gospel..
